Arbitration 

Arbitration is the resolution of disputes in civil actions which have been instituted in the Local, District or Supreme Court.

Alan McMurran is a specialist arbitrator in the commercial jurisdiction of the District Court of New South Wales as well as a Philadelphia Arbitrator.

The arbitration process involves determination of the matter by a court appointed arbitrator, who is usually a lay expert, such as an engineer or architect, or a practicing solicitor or barrister. The arbitration often takes place in a room adapted for that purpose, as opposed to a courtroom. The process is less formal than a court trial, but nonetheless results in a legally enforceable award being made by an arbitrator. The costs of arbitration and the conduct of the proceedings are borne equally by the parties. Our lawyers are trained and experienced and work in the following areas:
